"alternate forms for complex commands"

Hi,
Reading "man zshmisc", I found this:

  ALTERNATE FORMS FOR COMPLEX COMMANDS
Many of zsh's complex commands have alternate forms.
These particular versions of complex commands should be
considered deprecated and may be removed in the future.
                    ^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Well, why are the forms listed there considered deprecated? Just
curious...
And as far as that "may be removed" part is concerned: I vote for not
removing them :-)

CU,
Thomas
