I don't know about python, but for perlbrew I have the following in my
.zshrc:

if [[ -e ~/perl5/perlbrew/etc/bashrc ]] then
    . ~/perl5/perlbrew/etc/bashrc  # perlbrew
    pb() { TEST_JOBS=9 perlbrew "$@" }
fi
