I just followed the statement in the man-page:

   -u   This obsolete switch causes Perl [...]

Huh. Wasn't there in 5.14.1. Looking at git, that text was reverted inMay back to:


-u   This switch causes Perl to dump core [...]

So, apparently it's sticking around.
