Yeah, as that paper Lawrence linked says -- and it's nicely understandable -- small things are more common in nature than big things -- more small asteroids than big ones. I'm very pleased to learn the the Law also applies to following digits, tho with decreasing effect. I'm still attracted to my 'ratios' idea tho -- and it meshes well with the fact that the Law is defined logarithmicaly which is in fact turning a geometric series into an arithmetic one.
